The Anchor Alphabet is a typeface that replaces the 26 letters of the Latin alphabet with 26 icons. Each icon stands for a word that begins with the same letter in several languages: English, Spanish and French. So the letter A is represented by an anchor, since it is anchor in English and ancre in French.

This makes the Anchor Alphabet a powerful teaching tool for learning the alphabet, in a multilingual school for example, or simply because a figurative image is easier and more fun to take in than a plain letter.

Learning to read the Anchor Alphabet helps develop cognitive skills and encourages associations between symbols.

The code. The Anchor code is based on this reasoning: if some words can be represented by simple images, and those words begin with the same letter in several languages, then there are images that can represent a letter intuitively.
